Yeast Infection Treatment

Mouth yeast infection cures

A good yeast infection treatment consists of several parts:

  1. Stop the itching and pain and localized symptoms
  2. Follow the curative treatment plan of diet, supplements and therapies
  3. Follow preventative measures

Stop the itching, pain and localized symptoms

You can buy antifungal creams, ointments and suppositories over the counter at the pharmacy.  These should get rid of the symptoms in a few days.

A better choice is to use natural remedies for a longer-lasting cure.  These may include:

  • Garlic to soothe the infection and kill the yeast
  • Apple cider vinegar to kill the yeast
  • Boric acid to kill the yeast
  • Yogurt to soothe the infection and introduce friendly bacteria
  • Probiotics such as acidophilus to soothe the infection and introduce friendly bacteria
  • Tea tree oil to kill the yeast

Linda Allen has more specific natural remedies for yeast infection treatment in Yeast Infection No More.

Follow the curative treatment plan of diet, supplements and therapies

Diet

  • White vinegar and pickles
  • Sugar, honey, maple syrup, sucrose, lactose, maltose and other “ose” sugars, artificial sweeteners
  • Hydrogenated oils and partially hydrogenated oils

Do eat:

  • Fresh fruit and vegetables
  • Cold pressed olive oil
  • Sprouts
  • Brown rice
  • Beans
  • Raw nuts
  • Seeds
  • Fresh herbs and greens

For a comprehensive list of foods with reasons why they’re good or bad for yeast infection sufferers and how to use them, we always recommend Linda Allen’s book for accuracy and usefulness, Yeast Infection No More.

Follow preventative measures

Help your body by creating an environment in which yeast do not grow.

• Wear loose clothing
• Wear cotton underwear, or underwear with a cotton crotch
• emove damp clothing after swimming or working out
• Dry the infected area well after bathing. A blow dryer set on warm is effective.
